Golden Bowl

What an appropriate name for this restaurant because that is where I spent the next two days after eating here. I spent so much time in the bathroom that I repainted the entire room. Stay away. I would only recommend this place to someone I didn't like or who needed to loose weight fast, like a wrestler.

Papa Passeros

Pizza, thin crust, done right. This place is located in Westmont and they deliver to DG and all the surrounding areas. They do a real cool thing with their delivery boxes, they place plastic mesh under the pizza and this keeps the crust from getting soggy. If you dine in the restaurant be aware it is an old house, so you may be eating in someones old bedroom. Kids get a kick out of this and I like to look through the drawers and closets, kinda like house shopping with a realtor.

Ted's Montana Grill

Alright a chain restaurant in Bolingbrook. This place is located in the Promenade. They are probably most well known for offering Bison instead of beef. They offer every cut of beef you could want in a bison version and the taste is not distinguishingly (yeah I just made up that word) different. The difference is that the bison does not have the same amount of fat or cholesterol as cow, so if you are a fat ass or just like something a little bit healthier, order the bison, but remember to order it a little more rare that usual because of the lack of fat. This is also one of the best places to get a straight up Cheeseburger.

Jockey Restaurant

BLAND. If you wrote the words Kung Pao on a piece of paper and ate it, you will have more taste than their food. They offer delivery and that can be hit or miss, sometimes it takes 15 minutes and another time it took one week. No kidding. I had to get pizza when they never showed up, and when I called to see where my food was someone yelled at me in Russian! There are too many other good choices to bother with this place.

Taco Grill & Salsa Bar

Another Westmont joint, but well worth the trip. This is nothing more than a burrito and taco place, a very good taco and burrito place. I have never had a steak or chicken burrito here and had to pull the protein out of my mouth. Sounds gross, but if you have had as much mexican food as I have you know what I mean. As the name of the place states they have a Salsa Bar and it is LOADED with a variety of salsas and topping all homemade marked mild to X and up to XXX. Try the guacamole, fresh, but mild, and if you want to kick it up a notch just add in some XXX salsa or some jalapenos and carrots.

Vincitori

Ok another out of Downers Grove restaurant but close enough. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the western suburbs and I am not the only one who thinks so since the place has been open for more than ten years. The Shrimp Vincitori is great and consistant. The Cavitelli tastes homemade and when they have a seasonal dish like Osso Bucco they knock it out of the park. The restaurant hosts special occasion buffets on holidays and all the food is like something your Italian Grandmother would cook for you with love. By the way, this place is not a pizza joint but they make one of the best thin crust pizzas you will ever taste.

China Garden Chop Suey

Alright, now a restaurant right in downtown Downers Grove. I walked in this place and ordered in person, the girl behind the counter told me it would take 20 minutes for Kung Boa(that's how they spell it) Chicken. Ok so I waited in my car and returned 20 minutes later to be told that it would take another 20 minutes. WTF? I guess in the mean time I could have asked how much the various electronics they were selling in the glass counter cost. The food was not that great, Kung Pao was chicken and green peppers cut in different sizes, so some were over cooked and some were crisp. The meat in the steamed dumplings was a little off. I would not eat here again but I might go back for that used fax machine.

Jameson's Charhouse

I know I am starting my DG restaurant reviews with a place in Woodridge but it's close enough. I have had all of their meat(that sounds weird) chicken, pork chops, New York Strip, Filet and all are great. The salads suck, just some wilted leaves thrown on a plate, and they give you soup & salad with every meal. Just give me one and make it really good, ok? The food service is really slow, you should plan at least 6 hours out of your day to get a sandwich.
